Yupz! CHAMPION(!) for 'C' Div!!! And 3rd for 'B' Div (Well, that's an improvement frm last yr's 6th)!
It's a pity though, the 100m backstroke record should have been Lynette's, but Bernadette overtook her at the last 25m or so...:P I was screaming and watching in disbelief--it was just 0.3 seconds...and it meant so much! Both of them broke the record, but it will be Bernadette's name there, not Lynette's...she must have felt so disappointed...but I hope she won't be discouraged! Maybe she was under a lot of pressure, having broken the 'C' girls record in the same event last year...sometimes pressure makes u perform a little worse... But sometimes I wonder, would the same have happened if I'd wished her good luck b4 the race? If we'd cheered a little louder? Who knows? At any rate, what's done is done, our B Div is back in the top 4! But I had no hand in it, I'm afraid..sometimes I wonder what I'm doing in there. I'm a useless swimmer. Yes, I started late but if I'd trained harder I'd be much better thn I am now.
Gwen, I'd love to go to Japan(LOL), but I think I'm probably going there this yr(aft Os) with my family! I daresay i read Jap better than I speak it though, and I definitely need a lot of work to understand it when it's spoken...Maybe I'm feeling overconfident of myself now, but I get kind of angry inside when ppl think that I don't really know japanese that well because i don't take 3rd Lang. Well, it's probably true that the 3rd lang girls know much more than me, but it doesn't mean that I understand any less! My mum thinks i don't really understand what I'm reading--I do, although I still need a dictionary sometimes...and I daresay(brag alert!!) that I know more Jap slang and colloquialisms than the 3rd lang girls...(which teacher will teach her students swear words and such?) Okama. That's slang for 'sissy'...and of course, there are certain crude words i shall not use here.........................................that kind of language, u get from reading manga, magazines and just...reading those slang books they sell.
